硬脂醇又名十八(烷)醇，属于长链高碳脂肪醇类。白色片状或颗粒。熔点59.4-59.8℃（凝固点57.95℃），沸点210℃（2kPa）170-171℃（0.266kPa），相对密度0.8124（59/4℃），折光率1.4346（45℃）。溶于醇、苯、氯仿，不溶于水。有微毒性，对眼睛、皮肤有轻微刺激作用，可燃，其粉尘能与空气形成爆炸混合物，主要用途为有机合成原料。

Stearyl alcohol, also known as octadecyl alcohol, belongs to the long-chain high-carbon fatty alcohols. White flakes or granules. Melting point 59.4-59.8℃ (freezing point 57.95℃), boiling point 210℃ (2kPa) 170-171℃ (0.266kPa), relative density 0.8124 (59/4℃), refractive index 1.4346 (45℃). Soluble in alcohol, benzene, chloroform, insoluble in water. Slightly toxic, slightly irritating to eyes and skin, flammable, its dust can form explosive mixture with air, and its main use is raw material for organic synthesis.
